Mojawapo ya michakato ya uambishaji ni unyambuaji wa kitenzi. Kwa kawaida, unyambuaji huo wa kitenzi huwa haufanyiki kihobelahobela bali kuna mofimu mbalimbali ambazo huambikwa na kuleta unyumbuaji wa kitenzi hicho. Unyambuaji wa mofimu hizo hutawaliwa na kanuni mbalimbali zinazoonesha kauli za kutenda, kutendea, kutendwa, kutendesha n.k. Katika lugha ya Kiswahili, kanuni za unyambuaji zimeundwa na wanaisimu mbalimbali kama vile Ashton (1944), Streere (1950), Polome (1967), Broomfield (1975) na Kapinga (1983) (Kiango 2008). Miongoni mwa kanuni hizo ni kanuni ya utenda, utendwa, utendeka, usababishi, utendana na kadhalika. Kila kanuni ina kanuni nyingine ndogondogo ndani mwake, hata hivyo, makala haya yameangazia kanuni ya usababishi. Japokuwa kuna kanuni nyingi za usababishi, makala haya yamejikita katika kanuni ya usababishi ya -z- ambayo inafafanuliwa kuwa katika mzizi wa kitenzi kinachoishia na mkururo wa irabu, kwa mfano, kitenzi pa-a katika hali ya usababishi huwa pa-z-a, li-a huwa li-z-a n.k. Kwa ujumla, makala haya yanajaribu kuchunguza iwapo kanuni inafuatwa na vitenzi vyote vya Kiswahili sanifu na fasaha au la. Matokeo ya uchunguzi huu yanaonesha kuwa baadhi ya vitenzi vya Kiswahili sanifu havifuati kanuni hii katika kupata hali ya usababishi. Kwa mfano, vitenzi ondoa huwa ondo-sh-a, roa huwa ro-vy-a n.k. Makala yanapendekeza kuwa kanuni mbalimbali zilizoundwa na wataalamu wa zamani zichunguzwe tena ili kuziweka sawa na kuondosha utata na vighairi vinavyojitokeza katika kanuni hizo.
